Mark Rogers
Technical Director
Mark Rogers is a retired professional player who grew up in Tsawwassen and returned to the community after playing in England for the Wycombe Wanderers, a 2001 FA Cup semi finalist. Mark was hired as the Technical Director for TSC in 2010 and tasked with improving technical training, programming and soccer opportunities for youth in South Delta.
Mark strives to educate and foster a passion for the beautiful game of soccer in all of our players and parents. He wants to continue developing South Delta players through the club and onto Provincial teams and playing for Canada.
Playing Career: Professional Player 1998-2005, Wycombe Wanderers England, UBC Thunderbirds, UBC Captain 1996-1998, Played for the Canadian Men’s National Team, Delta Sports Hall of Fame Inductee
Coaching Career: National B License, Interim Assistant Coach Canadian Men’s National Team 2013, National Training Centre Coach 2006-2008, UBC Women’s Team Head Coach and UBC Men’s Asst Coach (National Champions 2005, 2007), Former Coastal FC Technical Director and Head Coach – 2 x National Champion, U15 Girls Provincial Team Coach, Tsawwassen Technical Director and Academy Coach.

Russ Heggie
Head of Player Development
Russ Heggie isa full time Physical Education and French teacher at Fleetwood Park Secondary School in Surrey.Russ was theTechnical Director for Ladner Boys Soccerfrom 2007-2016,and served in the same capacity with Ladner Girls Soccer from 2010-2016. In that time he hasestablished strong connections with the coaches, players and familiesinSouth Deltaover the past decade promoting the game as alife-long pursuit.
Playing experience: Russachieved much success as a youth player in Ladner Soccer Cluband continues to play with the Delta United Masters Premier team. Highlights include guidingthe Ladner Rangers FC VMSL to promotion in 2004 & 2007 and winning the 2010 Nations cup with Club Ireland.

Jon Rogers
Grassroots Head Coach
Jon is a club favourite who is skilled at teaching our youngest players the building blocks of soccer while having fun. He too grew up in Tsawwassen and believes strongly in the playing potential of the kids in South Delta.
Playing Experience: Jon was a Canada Games Finalist and College All-Canadian who played with the BC Provincial Team from 1991-1997. He trained at the National Training Centre and played for the Langara Falcons who were National Champions in 2000.
Coaching Experience: Prior to the 2016-2017 season at SDU, Jon coached professionally with Tsawwassen Soccer Club for about six years. In 2012 he took over as TSC’s Technical Director while his brother, Mark, coached at UBC. Jon runs our spring programs and summer camps, coaches at our academy and runs a soccer program through the city of Delta called “The Little Team”. He was a Super Y League Staff Coach at Coastal FC and a former Academy Coach at Kerrisdale Soccer Club.

Doug Dyck
U11-U14 Boys Head Coach
Doug is a familiar face to many in the South Delta soccer community. Prior to the inaugural season of SDU soccer, Doug was an Academy Coach with TSC for four years.
Playing Experience: Doug was a Canada Games Soccer Gold Medalist and a Provincial Team Player at U21, U23 and Open Age. Also played as a reserve player with Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders. Pacific Coast League, Pacific Rim League and Metro Premier League Allstar honors.
Coaching Experience:Involved in coaching all levels of youth soccer for the past 13 years. A USL Super Y League staff Coach at Coastal FC ( North American Finalists), was a DYSA Metro Team Head Coach (Provincial Finalist) and a BC Youth Premier League staff coach at Coastal FC. Doug has worked with SDU and TSC as an Academy Coach for the last 5 years.

Helmut Wiebe
Goalkeeper Coach
Helmut was born and raised in Paraguay, and it’s there where he fell in love with the beautiful game. After retiring from soccer, he moved to Canada. He soon found himself involved in soccer again, this time coaching his boys, one of whom was a trainee with the Vancouver Whitecaps and now plays at a Canadian University
Playing experience: Helmut played for 3 different regional teams over a period of 15 years(Olympia de Paratodo, National, and Guarany); represented Paratodo, Filadelfia and Asuncionin the Intercolonial championship; and played one year in the Paraguayan Inter League championship(UFI).
Coaching experience: A NSCAA certified goalkeeper coach, and BCSPL goalkeeper coach since 2011, Helmut has been coaching in the Greater Vancouver area since 2001. In 2007 he started the goalkeeper academy for Tsawwassen Soccer Club; coach at Whitecaps FC Gk Pro Series since 2015; and in the fall of 2016 he took on the role as head of goalkeeping for South Delta Utd. His favorite part of coaching is being able to see the players improve and watching players grow in skill and talent and sportsmanship. Helmut enjoys to influencing players and being a role model for them. He likes to create a learning environment that is constantly challenging and enjoyable, and progress players to the next level, help them reach their ultimate potential while having fun.
