SDU Technical Staff
Professional Coaching Support
Today’s demands on community soccer clubs are just too great for one professional head coach or technical director. In 2012, the then Tsawwassen Soccer Club revamped its technical delivery structure with the help of former Team Canada interim assistant coach and player Mark Rogers. The club hired several professional coaches to provide increased on-field support to its volunteer coaches. This same structure was adopted in 2016 by the newly formed South Delta United Soccer Club. Today, both our coaches and players benefit from this extra support. Indeed, we know of no other nearby club that offers this calibre of professional coaching support. Those hired to work for SDU are some of the most respected names in BC soccer.
Mark Rogers is a retired professional player who grew up in Tsawwassen and returned to the community after playing in England for the Wycombe Wanderers, a 2001 FA Cup semi finalist. Mark was hired as the Technical Director for TSC in 2010 and tasked with improving technical training, programming and soccer opportunities for youth in South Delta.
Mark strives to educate and foster a passion for the beautiful game of soccer in all of our players and parents. He wants to continue developing South Delta players through the club and onto Provincial teams and playing for Canada.
