RE: South Delta United Statement regarding COVID-19
Families of South Delta United, we have prepared the following as it relates to COVID-19 virus, including links to the recent press release by the BC Soccer Association and BC Center for Disease Control.
On Friday, March 13 Canada Soccer and BC Soccer announced that all sanctioned soccer across Canada is suspended indefinitely out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of members of the soccer community. This includes games, practices, team meetings, coach and referee education sessions. See the linked press release above for more details.
While SDU agrees with and supports this directive, the situation remains fluid, and changing seemingly daily. We recognize the impact this situation has on our families and participants and thank you for your patience and understanding in this difficult time. We are monitoring the situation closely and will be communicating in a timely manner should any changes occur.
Regarding upcoming SDU spring programs:
- SDU spring break camp running March 23-27 – Announcement to be made no later than Thursday, March 19.
- SDU spring soccer programs scheduled for mid-April to May/June remain in effect at this time, with updates to come closer to the scheduled start date.
- Cascadia Spring League remains in effect, with more information to come after Spring Break.
